What is the most awesome thing about having a career in tech for you?
Learning new things everyday and never getting bored.
As a child, did you dream of a career in tech?
Yes. Dreamed of building a student database for the class when I was a teacher’s little helper.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve done, both personally and professionally?
The coolest thing I have done personally is the Inca Trail. Four days of hiking through the mountains of Peru to get to Machu Picchu through rain, hail, snow and shine, made me realise I can do anything! Professionally, the coolest thing I have ever done is work on a large scale IT project that allowed me to move to Victoria and be a key leader on one of the biggest IT migrations Australia has ever seen!
Why are you passionate about diversity in technology?
Technology has never failed to amaze me and fortunately I have been in the right generation to be able to keep up and observe the impact that it has on the world.
What would your advice be to your 15 year old self?
Self belief is key! I know that’s easy to say now, but 15 year old me did not have enough self belief. Exploring different options and knowing what you passionate about as well as what you are good at is your key to the future. It’s ok to be different!
